The numbers in Spanish

Following are the basic Spanish numbers and patterns in which they are formed.

Numbers from 11 – 15 derive from latin  and have a special way to form, the first part is the unit and second the dozen.

From 16 – 19 first goes the dozen (ex. Dieci) and secondly (ex. Ocho) the unit. ex. (Dieciocho)

For numbers of 2 digits ended in 0 from 20 – 90 uses the suffix –enta (cuarenta, sesenta) with the exception of 10 and 20 (diez and veinte);

The numbers from 21-29 have an special way to form as: Veinti + digit ejm. (Veintitres)

Numbers upper to 30 to 99 are form as: Dozen + y + Unit

Numbers from 100 – 199 are formed by Ciento + unit or dozens 

Numbers  from 200 - 999 are form by: Unit + cientos (ex. Doscientos)  except 500, 700, 900 (ex. Quinientos, Setecientos, Novecientos) , Unit + cientos + dozens (ex. trescientos cuarenta y uno).
